How to connect your AI to your Meta & Google ad data (2026)

Option 1 - Official MCP servers (Google, Meta)
Both platforms now ship their own connectors. Google's Google Ads MCP is read-only, positioned for diagnostics and analytics - a safe, vendor-blessed way to let an AI read your Google Ads data. Meta's official connector arrived in 2026 and exposes more, including write actions. Good if you want the source-of-truth integration and don't mind doing the server setup. Limitation: single-platform each, and you're wiring and maintaining the connection yourself.
Option 2 - Third-party MCP servers
A crop of vendors (the "ads MCP" space) offer multi-platform servers - Meta plus Google, sometimes more - usually with read and write. Convenient and broad. The trade: most are built around write access (an AI that can change campaigns), and the connection often runs through the vendor's hosted server, so you're trusting a third party with the path to your accounts. Fine if you actively want automation and you trust the vendor; more than you need if you only want to read and report.
Option 3 - Self-host it and sign in with your own Claude or ChatGPT
The third route skips MCP entirely: you run a small app on your own machine, and it uses your own Claude or ChatGPT sign-in as the AI. No MCP server to configure, no API keys to manage, and your data stays local. Done read-only, the AI can read and explain your Meta and Google data but has no power to change anything.
